Always found PC991's to be faultless and kept rust free. Now i am 10 speed recommendations?
KMC X10-93 seems to do what it says on the tin, and the connecting link is said to be reusable (unlike Shimano/SRAM) although I haven't tried undoing one yet.
Impressed with KMC X10L Gold.
Shimano XT has been fine for me last one lasted 20 months, riding 2-4 times a week, currently trying a KMC X10 10 months so far no problems.
KMC X10SL Gold for approx £23 on ebay....take approx 10 days and are perfect.

+1, although I don't bother with the gold ones.
I've gone from 991 to a 1071, seems to be doing the job so far, apart from the ridiculous single use master links. I've heard tell the 9 speed ones do the job I've not tried this yet.
Are the KMCs easy to split for cleaning?
