Afternoon all.

Tis my birthday soon and have been given a max £50 limit from the sister.

I need a new riding jacket so recommendations please.

Remember the Endura Laser got a good review in MBR and is under budget. Is it any good. Is the Laser, or the newer Laser 2 the better jacket.

Also the Altura Nevis, Endura Escalante, Endura Gridlock, Phoneix and Rebound are all in the price range. Have I missed anything obvious? Real world recommendations appreciated.

Cheers

Dave

Sad but true, was sniffing round my local TK Maxx yesterday and they had a few event waterproof jackets in for less than £50!

Mine cost me £180 last year!

Best breathing waterproof material I have come across yet too.

ooh, I just picked up a Gore-Tex Paclite Nike jacket from the TK of Maxx for ten pounds over your budget. Not bike-specific but had good length arms and a drop tail.

I have a Montane Featherlite rrp is £50 but I got mine for £40 its pretty basic but if your just after a waterproof lightweight breathable jacket that can scruch down small its just the job. I am a sweaty bloke and I have never come across anything so breathable.

Don't buy the altura Nevis, seriously hot and sweaty jacket and not very waterproof and I'm not even a sweaty type. Recently bought the montane featherlite h2o and very happy with it for the money

Endura Gridlock here, probably a little more jacket than the waterproof your after but suits me and wearable over multiple seasons, I find I only ever need the Stealth or Gridlock.
Same as always though, each to their own
