Hi

Me and a few lads are taking the bikes up to Aviemore this weekend and Ive been scanning the various guide books for some rides.

I was initially planning to do the "Glen Feshie Challenge" and the "Ryvoan Pass" routes or maybe the "Burma Road" (all routes from the guide books), but no idea what they are like (anyone got any comments / advice?) oh, and get a shot round the magic woodland trails at Badaguish squeezed in there sometime too.

However - can any of you suggest / recommend a routes or trail to explore that might be fun starting out from the Aviemore area - anything considered but more keen on technical singletrack riding wherever possible. Should we just ask in Bothy Bikes?
Cheers
Colin

If you have not done the trails at Laggan, then you must give them a go, Laggan is the Muts Nuts 8)

They guy is looking at some of the excellent "natural" riding in the area and you want to send him a good few miles to a trail centre.

Ask in bothy bikes or do one of the routes you mention.

Head to Inshriach forest. One landrover track climb with countless techy singletrack descents leading off. Lots of roots though, could be interesting in the wet...

Worth having a map with you so you know how to get back to the top, some of the singletrack can lead you a bit astray...

I would argue Inshriach has more to offer than Bagaduish, despite a mate and I deciding the last descent at Bagaduish was one of the nicest we had ever ridden.

I like the route up and over the green loch personally. Absolute cracker. Never been convinced by the burma road. Lots of interminable climbing for little reward (except for the fantastic views that is). Definitely call into bothy bikes and ask for some recos.
