Did a weeks XC in Scotschland this year - bikes, van, great time. Would like to repeat next year; thinking maybe the pyrenees - would this be xc-able?

Cheers,

Jez

I can't claim i'm an expert but i have follwed the VVT stuff above Aix le Thermes (great views but dull riding). Mid Sept so the lifts were shut.

Followed this with 5 days in Luchon where we used the Superbagneres ski lift to access the red & black routes that were all rideable on our trailbikes (me & the wife).

On some days the missus just dropped me at the top of a hill and i used an OS style hiking map to get back to the bottom and this is where the goodstuff is!!

That was a couple of years ago. The other week on a road trip a kind chap off this forum (thanks Rich tee) took me for a ride to the top off a peak nr Collioure but as not enough people ride round there the paths aren't cleared enough for biking...

The longwinded point i'm trying to make is its a needle in a haystack. My advice is cut to the chase and hook up with someone like AQR in Luchon or be prepared to miss the goodstuff and potentially do a lot of pushing.

Them hills take hours to get to the top of! And the French footpaths signs are not easy to follow...
