I've got a "Test" Fizik saddle I picked up for a bargain a few years ago and it's currently doing nothing. Problem is it's bright yellow and would bugger up the aestetics of a new build. Has anyone succesfully recoloured a PU leather saddle at all? If so what did you use. Thanks!

shoe dye works well, couple of coats and then apply a bit of wax to polish in and seal.

Is it incredibly expensive or have significant sentimental value?

Bang it on eBay and buy a black one.

I've got one of those Fiziks as well, I won it from a eBay charity auction IIRC, bright yellow, says 'TEST' on it.
I just added 'es' with a sharpie, rode it for a bit and discovered I don't really have a FiZik shaped arse. It now lives in the spares bin and gets fitted to bikes occasionally as a stop-gap.

What I have done recently is re-cover some WTB saddles with cheapy fake leather vinyl, you need to carefully demount the rails, peel the old covering off, then apply the new covering with contact adhesive spray, pull it about and trim it to fit, and then bang staples in to retain it to the saddle body underside. I use 2 seat posts clamped opposite ways, to lever the rails to remove/refit.

I suppose if you want to minimise effort you could just cover over the existing cover with a thin enough material, using the contact adhesive, and not bother to remove the rails and just work around them, but that limits access.

My re-coverings don't look amazing, but they'll do for me.

I’ve recovered a couple of Specialized seats in kangaroo leather. Pretty easy and no need to remove rails in my case.

The biggest issue I had was getting a thin enough covering to work well on the edge folds.
