Anyone know if it's possible to rebuild Look Keo Max pedals as mine have developed a lot of play and i can't find a manual

Play where?
Axle? Cleat? Locking mechanism pivot?

Throw them away. Honestly, I struggled for six years with Look Keo pedals and after sending the third pair back to Wiggle for a refund I wrote to the brand manager at Fisher Outdoor, who import them, complaining that the pedal bodies keep unscrewing from the spindles and the bearings develop play and click annoyingly. His reply: "I've been using Look pedals for years and I think they're excellent"!

They can't be rebuilt or refurbished at any price level so I ebayed my knackered old Keos (three pairs with a full description of their faults) and have gone over to Shimano SPD-SL. I really wish I had done this six years ago as the Shimano pedals are far superior in quality and give a wider, more stable platform than Keos.

I THINK it's with the axle.

As I wrote, there's nothing that can be rebuilt or serviced. The two tiny inboard bearings will get water in them and go manky and the plain bush at the outboard end wears eventually as well. They are goosed.

Ok, i've manage to save looks in the past, or at least get another 6 months out of them. But if the latest ones are that poor, probably not worth it.

I opened some keo's up to try and rebuild but it was a no go with the cost of new bearings and the bush pressed into the bottom of the body. I needed new cleats anyway so i just bought some new pedals on offer at wiggle. The first pair lasted 3 sets of cleats the last pair just one set. I did find that opening them up ad filling with grease will prolong their life for a few more months.
I have just ordered some keo max 2 which I hope last a bit better and don't creak as much. I really like the pedals though and I ride them all year in any weather.
