Forgive the emotion...
About 3 years ago, I rebuilt my first ever race bike - a Titus HCR ti from 2004. Prior to this the frame had been hanging on my wall for about 3 years. I won my first Sport, Expert and Elite races on this frame. It's done countless XC races, 6hr, 24hr, massive rides...
Since then, It's sat unused whilst the components have gone out of fashion a little. I've decided to rebuild it again with some more basic parts (SLX 1x10 and Deore brakes) to bring it bang up to date. The suspension forks have been sold and some carbon rigids ordered. Should make a fantastic winter bike, even if it is "only" a 26" wheel. Says a lot about trickle down technology that Deore brakes and SLX gears are all you really need these days.
Pretty awesome to be riding this on it's 10th birthday. The frame is a baby through compared to the Chris King headset thats in it - that's now 15...
Can't wait to get it built back up again! Come on delivery drivers...
