Hi all. What's the best tool/bodge job to use. Dont fancy forking out £20 on the rockshox plastic tube.....

Not needed. Lube it up and push it in with your fingers, or, worst case, an appropriately sized socket.
I have and do just use my fingers, though.

although i used one of our vacuum extension tubes.....

I have a bottom bracket tool thats fits perfectly
