I have a set of Rock Shox Reba SL's that came with a Poplock arrangement. The lockout option has really proven to be seldom used and it just adds to the list of things that clog up and need servicing.
Does anyone know if you can get the gubbins to convert said fork to the standard leg top lockout?
Yes. You used to be able to open up the motion control damper and unhook the return spring but i had a look at mine and it doesn't seem too obviious how; I wonder if they changed the spring or something.
The aluminium knob is ludicrously expensice for what it is too.
I keep wondering if its worth swapping the whole damper and poploc lever with someone who has the fork-top lever. I hardly ever use mine even with the convenience of it being on the bars.
Had a word with LBS. They say it'll be a about 50 notes to do the conversion. Poplock stays for the time being.
The part is £22, £50 all in sounds a bargin (sic), does that include an oil change?
If your not using it then just don't fit it.
Mine went in the box marked junk the day I fitted the forks.
