From 2010 SRAM seem to be recommending grease rather than oil - whats best for a 2009 SL fork (on its last legs and leaking air between chambers). If grease, what grease?

Also about to adjust travel on my new Revs RLT and there will be grease in there - should I swap with oil?

I've noticed grease in forks when I've serviced them but the the service manuals are never too specific on what to replace with. I've used Rock N Roll Super Slick on seals which seems to work well. I'm also tempted to use some Manitou M-Prep which I bought for my Turner frame's bushings....seems a good consistency

Thanks. I've got some Pitstop Judy Butter - that OK? Seems very light to me but maybe that's what's required.

OK - this seems like a general issue - what's best at keeping the air spring O-rings lubed and leak free - grease or oil. Have Rockshox moved to grease recommendation for a particular reason. I'm confused. Does it really matter?

you want something silicone based for the forks as it won't mix with the oil and will preserve the o-rings.

I use Stendec stuff but I think the RnR Super Slick and Manitou M-prep is also very similar and silicone based.

sounds like oil would be best as ,from what i read in the above manual, it seems there are foam rings in the air spring which would absorb the oil helping lubrication .
