Ok, noticed last ride or 2 that my rear end sounds like it does when it coasts but when its pedalling?. Like a freewheel ticking kind of thing?

What is it (bike is a month or 2 old now).

Chain climbing the cassette? Adjust cable tension?

Well the hub wont make any noise whilst peddling as it is engaged and locked unless the pawls and springs are borked but then they would slip sporadically under higher torque load ie standing up or ascending. Do you feel a slip as if you've missed a gear when you give it the beans?

Ok, not the hub then. guess it could be gear needing adjusting after a bit of cable stretch since its relatively new?.

Just twizzle the adjusters on the shifter as your going along and I bet as if by magic, the ticking stops.

Also check the cassette for little twigs and bits wrapped round the chainrings or even build up of mud as this to will left the chain and try and cause false shifting noises.
And your jockey wheels too!!

Check that the top jockey wheel isn't touching the sprockets when you are in the lower gears - adjust the screw at the rear of the derailleur that bears onto the gear hanger if it is too close.
