I've been getting a intermittent squeak when climbing (more weight over the rear wheel?) and have checked the obvious (such as pedal threads etc.); it seems to be a rear wheel issue. I've removed the dust caps on the hubs and cleaned and greased them but that hasn't changed anything, the cassette seems fine to, nice and tight with no play.

It's a DMR Revolver cassette hub (cartridge bearings) and there appears to be no play or problems with the hub. I can't find any loose spokes that might be rubbing either.

Could it be a bent axle (although it's intermittent and not regular in occurrance). It's not a big deal, but it would be nice to get it sorted.

More likely to be the brake squeaking due to the frame flexing under load.

Well it does sound a bit like mild brake squeak but I didn't realise that a frame would flex enough to cause that.

It's easy enough to test: just remove the pads (taking care not to use the brake!!).
