Ok bought a second hand but immaculate set of wheels and fitted rear casette. Now maybe it's my imagination but I'm sure when not pedaling the bike is slowing too quickly :@))
The rear wheel seems to spin ok but certainly slows quickly.
What's the cause of this and could it seriously slow me down so dramatically?
What hubs?
Sounds like the freehub or bearings
What hub is it? If it's Hope is the hard rubber ring fitted behind the cassette free hub body properly?
Is the grease old and thickened up, preventing it from freewheeling properly? If so, clean and repack. If the freehub body isn't serviceable, then squirt some sort of solvent into it (like WD-40) to remove the old grease and/or oil, then relube with some oil.
Cheers guys...
They are a set of Goldtec hubs - but prob 8 years old and have never been used.
Sounds like the grease is the issue
