I rebuilt my rear wheel sometime ago and has been ridden fairly hard since. After putting a wider higher volume tyre on I noticed on the rear swingarm that the gap between each side is uneven. Another rear wheel is fine but obiously a narrower tyre. Is this a biggy - doesn;t seem to affect the handling of the bike or foul the rear swingarm. Not sure how the dish is out as when I rebuilt it it was spot on ๐ฏ ๐ณ
is the tyre sat right ? i wouldnt have thought it would have made a difference anyway but i guess it was more the tyre mounting than the wheel
turn the wheel around and see if the dish changes sides?
If it does, just re-dish the wheel? Easy job to do if you take it gently.
good idea bigyinn - Prob will - I don't think its the tyre as it seems to be sitting fine. Yeh I thought you'd say that though - have to take the tubeless tyre off - might leave it untill is needs changing or truing at all ๐ Cheers guys.
just i had a similar prob with a maxxis tyre tubeless but altho it looked right it seemed about 3mm out of dish i left it til i changed tyres and it was indeed the tyre ๐
you shouldn't need to remove the tyre, just loosen one side of spokes and tighten the other. No need for a stand if that's the problem, you can just use a cable tie on the seat stay.
if its not causing a problem with tyres rubbing then it doesn't really matter, I have been running a wheel like that for the past year with no probs.
Will be fine, dish doesn't matter at this level, as long as tension is ok
Cool - cheers - I'll just ignore it for now then ๐
It depends which way the dish is out really, if it's towards the drive side you'll have a weaker wheel that could pretzel more easily, but if you're a fairly light rider you'll probably not notice it.
No its away from the drive side and I am not too heavy about 76-77Kg ๐
