Hello, So I've recently bought myself a new full suspension bike and it comes with a Rockshox Monarch RT. I pumped it up with a shock pump so I can get the correct sag, but as I unscrew my shock pump all of the shocks air hisses and escapes out. I'm not talking about the usual small amount of air you hear when removing a pump. I know the pump is ok because I use it on my other bikes front forks. Any suggestions? thankyou
As it's new you have warranty so you can just pop back into the shop and get them to sort it. Other things are the valve being stuck open, you can remove the core and clean it, maybe even a drop of lube
Sounds like the valve core is loose or sticky. Remove, clean, refit. It's just a typical Schrader car valve type.
I had this on my forks. Just a little grit in there that needed cleaning out. Like everyone else says, just remove and clean. Easy to do.
I've had sticky or loose cores on car tyres and a pair of marzocchi forks. Should be able to nip it up by sticking a pair of tweezers or needle-nose pliers in there, or worst case buy a pack of new cores for pennies.
