Rear Shimano 4 pot brakes microleak?

Struggling here. Never quite been A1. New rotors and pads - works for a couple of rides. Thoroughly clean rotor, Wet n dry and car disc cleaner with new pads and same result, works for a ride or two.

Leaving the bike for four weeks seems to be the killer issue. Any suggestions? I would rather sort out the issue due to brake change requiring a motor to be dropped out. Which may well be the answer with a change to Magura MT5 pro. Been very impressed by MT7's.

I had this with some SLX 4-pots on a Pivot Firebird I tested recently (review here). I tried multiple pads, cleaning the rotors and bleeding many times but to no avail. I’d suggest taking it up with Shimano’s warranty dept, or just sacking it off and getting a different brake from another manufacturer. Can recommend Hayes Dominion A4

I had the same. I changed the caliper and it stopped doing it. Either warranty or just suck the cost up of a new caliper. Deore calipers aren't too much and are just as powerful, can just cut the banjo off the hose and connect with an olive and barb. You get a set of resin pads with the caliper which makes the price feel a little more worth it.

Gotbike, now why had I not thought of that? Gone for SLX due to same Bango fitting.

One very happy bunny here, SLX fitted and back to one finger stopping on a dime. Bleed  and bedded in.

Will try a longer ride tomorrow. It was great that the SLX had exactly the same hardware banjo fitting so a very easy swop for not a lot considering the time I have put up (months) with unreliable rear brake.

Easy enough fix (not for me, can’t sort brakes to save my life!) but it’s frustrating that these issues continually crop up with shimano brakes.
