Starting to think about wet riding 🤔 any experience of either of these ? I'm after the one that protects the bike and me .It's for my Orbea Rise , Merlin have the SKS for £27 £8 cheaper than the MH , I've got a Proguard at the moment which is great for protecting the shock , I've also got an old Crudguard which I was thinking of zip tying the 2 together but might be a bit flappy ?

Which one fits best ?
Mudhuggers have one angle but Mudrockers are adjustable.
Prefer mudhugger, but don't fit as well.
Mudhugger on my bikes. Make sure that you wrap an old inner tube around the mounting points on the rear triangle as on mine any slight movement wears the frame away even when the cable ties are very tight.
Unfortunately Binman won't know until I buy one , my seatstays don't have a bridge so more adjustability might be better?
It's to do with the seatstay angle, cam measure mine tomorrow eve if you need a number.
Thanks Binman , Mudhugger told me a medium will fit my Rise , sounds like there's more adjustability with the SKS so that might sway it . Still tempted to lash up my Proguard and the old Crudguard but then I'm tight ! 🙄
I have both.
Mudhugger is a bit more solid, but no adjustment, and it can rub the paint off your seatstays.
SKS, little bit more flexible (but not so much it rubs on the tyre), adjustable angle and quicker on/off with velcro.
Oh, and the SKS follow the curve if the tyre more. So aesthetically a bit nicer IMO.
Both are excellent, but for me the SKS just edges it for ease of use.
Can't comment on which is better but here is a 29er mudhugger on a rise. I also have used a 27.5 one on there which looks better but is less effective.
I give up. The image function used to work OK but not anymore it seems!

I think by flexible and SKS you mean in how it fits/adjustability?
I have both and in terms of material find the SKS much more plasticky so noise wise I find it makes more rattles and noise compared to MH which has a bit more flex/give.
id actually say I prefer MH for being less rattly and noisy. But SKS more convenient for quicker on/off with Velcro and being able to adjust angles.
That's a shame Welsh farmer 😞
Nope. Still no luck!

+1 SKS here, been the best rear mudguard I've had and my garage is a mudguard graveyard but I do think the bike design plays into which might work best for you :/
James
If you’re less bothered about protecting you and more concerned with the frame / linkages, I’ve been really pleased with one of these on my whyte.
hot yeah already have a Proguard similar thanks just want something to keep my butt dry.
No sure which SKS your looking at, one that attached to the seatpost? Do you have room on your SP, as shirely it has a dropper?
MH is the king of mudguards* IMO if you get the right size, and I thoroughly protect the seat stays before fitting (and not just with the supplied stuff). SKS/topeak do a very good removable MG's, but with dropper posts, I can't fit them
* Just not a looker...

zippy not the seatpost one SKS version of the MH
