Hi All,

I use a rear mudguard, the type that fastens/clamps around the seatpost, but it really irritates me because it catches on the inside of my thighs when I pedal. The seatpost is a layback type and I have tried the guard up and down the post and so here is the question. What are you using, makes etc as your rear mudguard because I can't be the only one with fat thighs? 😉 Are there any really sleek new types out now I don't know about?

Thanks.

new Crud Guard fits pretty close and has an unobtrusive clamp. The original rear guard was better though

I use a zefal no mud ...about £12 squids from cyclestore. Looks a little bit industrial but works brilliantly...mounts to seatstay so is well out the way and if you have a full sus moves with travel. It keeps all the crap off my reverb dropper post too 🙂

Yeah Rob its much lower now...almost following the wheel profile. This was the only pic I had on my phone 🙂

Done the same as up there- much closer to the wheel and works very well. Took a while to
Get it sitting just right so it doesn't rub though.

Yeah it does really well actually. It has a spoiler that extends it another 3 inches or so (not fitted in pic). It has some rubber strap / bolt fittings that attach to seatstay...bloomin strong fixings. The only thing I would say is that they will struggle to fit large diameter seatstays....I could just about slide the mounts down to give me around 10mm clearance between wheel and underside of guard.

Best rear fender that I've ever had.

Two drawbacks, though:
- Tools needed for mounting; not an easy on/off like some of the seatpost mounted ones.
- It is from Froggyland.
