My Rear mech is coming to the point where it needs to be replaced(havnt done so in 2 years so uite happy)
Currently its a Shimano LX RD-M581 SGS cage. On my 2008 non disc Rockhopper.
Just wanted to check that i going to buy the correct one/replacement,
Shimano SLX M662 Shadow 9 SGS Long Cage
(am i correct in saying i need a Long Cage rather than medium cage for this bike, as i know the size is relevent to the number of teeth on bike right?)

Just wanted to check that this is correct? that i am getting the right kind of rear mech replacement for my bike.
ie SGS shadowmech is correct replacement rather than a medium cage.

Assuming a usual type triple up front (or even some doubles with 11-34 cassettes) then yes - SGS.
