I got an issue with my xtr rear mech, I have trouble shifting from the 40t down to the next ring. I have to shift again and wait until it eventually shifts two rings then I have to back shift. The rest of the range works fine it's just that first initial shift.

Any ideas?

Has it always done this?

Is it a new item? New cassette? New cables? New hanger? What bike? How many speeds? What cranks?

Only just started doing this recently.

I twisted my mech so I got a replacement on it.
Same cassette
New Cable
Same hanger
Scott scale
11 speed
Got some new praxxis cranks.

Good chance the mech hanger is bent.

Yep, identical problem on my SRAM Eagle. Spent a good while trying to fettle it (B screw, H and L settings, dirty cable etc. etc..) but couldn't quite get it right so popped the mtb in to Twelve50 who sorted it for a nominal fee and explained the problem ๐Ÿ™‚

Mine was doing this and it was the b screw holding the top jockey wheel too far from the cassette , so might be worth a look.

I'll order a new mech hanger as it's always good to have a spare during summer.

Come to think about it and the top jockey is quite a way from the ring.

My two thoughts were bent hanger or B screw.
