So, after getting drenched on the way to work today, when putting the bike in the bike shed, I noticed a bike with a wire cage to protect the rear mech...
I used to have one of those on the bike as a kid.
having bent a rear meach in a crash, it occurs to me, why dont we see those now on mountain bikes? am I missing something obvious?

My zesty has a carbon mech protector, they work, it's saved my mech a few times.
