I’m running an 11 speed XTR M9000 with standard XTR m9001 Cassette, all been fine but today the chain was very slack even with the clutch engaged, visibly hanging down.
I suspect that the clutch has failed?, any other suggestions?

Most likely a clutch failure. Just had it happen with my XTR, same symptom. You can buy the clutch kit. I took mine to the shop to have them do it as I'm a mechanical retard, and the clutch replacement cost almost as much as new XTR rear D. So - if you have any mechanical aptitude at all, do it yourself.

Mine was just gummed up. Take off the little plastic cover, clean it out a bit and stick a bit of thin oil or lube in there.

had this once, I don't know what to call the part but a screw that acts as a stopper had fallen out. the cage would move very freely and no tension.
