Hello there, I am currently building an On One Scandal 29er v2 rigid for bikepacking. When I got the frame (2nd hand), it came with a second removable drop out section so the rear brake caliper could be mounted 'inboard' along the chainstay as opposed to 'outboard' in a more common position. Could anybody tell me what the possible advantages or disadvantages of mounting it inboard would be? Thanks
In board can give a better hose routing and makes SS easier too.
In terms of load within the frame it doesn't make any differenceI think as it all just goes between the bolts, but brant would be able to confirm.
You just need to be sure that your caliper will fit within the stays.
Thanks for that, definitely looks to be a neater hose routing at the very least.
