[#7534581]

Just need to clarify this before I hit purchase

The rear axle for the frame I waiting on (Transition Scout) is described as Syntace X12 12mm x 142mm.

The wheelset I intend to buy is Hope pro 2/ARCH EX with 135mm QR rear hub (I've seen a bargain.)

Can this hub be converted correctly using this http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/p/16007/hope-pro-2-evo-142mm-conversion?variantId=72656&gclid=CKq2-87x8ckCFSrpwgodVjkCyw

Yes and no. Yes if its a Pro2 Evo hub, no if not. If its a bargain its probably not.

Thought the Hope pro 2 needed a new axle to convert to 142 were as the evo just needs the end caps you link to.

Think you may need this;

As above. Pro2 (pre-evo) typically requires a new hub axle in addition to the spacers when converting from a hub that was originally QR.

Also worth noting that many people snapped hub axles in pro in 12mm mode as the hub uses 15mm bearings, so not much material for strength. The Pro2EVo uses 17mm bearings so hub axle is stronger.

Hubs are PRO 2 evo.

So if I go here http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope-pro-2-evo-rear-hub-conversion-kit/rp-prod68578

and click the X12 button for £10.99, then I'm laughing?
