Yes, yes, I know I should really get some new ones but I was just wondering what your success rate was when re-using existing ones....

Barbs 100%
You can't re-use olives as they're set to the hose - barbs are fine to use however.
Cut the olive off but reuse the barb.
I've been wondering the same; I know that you can get re-use the barbs - but can you then use pretty much any old 5mm brass olive to refit..?
Melt the hose off with gas torch
Heat the olive to cherry red
Reuse both parts
Or spend 20p and replace olives you tight wad

It's actually to re-fit some hoses that already have olives and barbs attached and to save me a trip to the shops!
Re-fit hose with olives and barbs still on is fine if they are going back on the same model of brake. e.g. swapping hoses side to side on new xt's because they came euro style.
cutting olives off and trying to get them on new hoses, not going to work.
Any suggestions on places selling shimano compatible olives at normal prices (ie plumbing/hydraulic suppliers)?
