Reusing blue hope hubs on a new build to save costs but ideally they'd be gold. I'm not into doing it myself but would a professional be able to do them if I took the bearings and pawls out?

Or does the ratchet ( steel?) spot you from doing this?

Any steel in there would stop it working as far as i understand it

Hmm that's what I thought. So do I stick to the budget and use blue hubs on what is a mainly black build with a few bits of gold....or will I always regret it?

If you're like me you will always regret it.
