It rattles unpleasantly, has done it since new. I was reassured by LBS back then it would go away but that never happened.
How can I get rid of the vibration on the lever? I've tried tightening it but it isn't a solution it seems (there is a gap instead of a loose bolt).
New lever time?
I would contact Hope directly. Their customer service is good in my experience and I'm sure they'll help out and determine the best solution.
If it's been like it since new they'll probably change it for it you.
It's not something that will go away on it's own, that's for sure.
All of my Hope mono levers do this a little bit - I almost can't see how they'd not, given their design (an' that's not a criticism, just an observation).
That said, mine make more of a background rattle, rather than an unpleasant one, so there may be more to it I guess. Have you ever crashed [on] that lever, maybe it's opened the mounting up a bit on the master cylinder?
Both my M4's and Monos rattle, can't say it bothers me though.
No, no crashes involved, been like that since the beginning.
Ideally, they'd be solidly fixed, like my Shimano ones, might consider other lever brands but Hope will get an email tonight after work.
Can you not just nip the pivot bolt up a bit?
unfortunately not, every pair I've had have had 'float' on the levers and apparently thats the norm.
I've tried 'nipping' it a bit to no avail. Need a good solution. Hope are about to get an email I reckon.
Ok - just checked all of mine ( 8 levers) non rattle - all have float / freeplay ing the pivot but non make an unpleasant rattle. I am actually a bit at a loss to understand your issue.
