I love my hard tail - external cables and hoses and clutch mech make for a very quiet ride but, my cx is another matter. Internal cables and ultegra hydro groupset it rides superb but the internal cables rattle in the down tube and the chain banging around the stays makes me cringe.
How can I stop the cable rattle? I have tried pulling them tighter and adjusting slack but they're no better (full length outers)
Also what can I do regarding the chain? It is as short as possible and as I understand there is not an option for a clutch mech

chain banging around the stays makes me cringe.

Wrap an old inner tube around the stay.

The innertube is a great idea but my bike is white and an old innertube is not astetically pleasing (although it would probably do the trick)

My 2017 spark and my scale plus are all internal cables. Each cable has a foam sleeve to keep things nice and silent. You need access ports though to facilitate this..

Update - pulled the outer cables tight inside the frame and secured with zip ties and rattles are much improved.
The question now is can I live with the zip ties?
The ports are not big enough to allow foam insertion.
