I must admit I have made a couple of rapha purchases in the past not bad kit to be fair and needed some bib shorts so when a discount code and bundle brought the core bib shorts down to 50 quid. I had a punt.
All good but I was asked to submit a review. I did a fair review comparing size to endura, castelli etc and said they were fine but chucked in a comment that they were perfect for fat arsed golfists moving over to road cycling.
Must have hit a nerve cause the review hasn't been posted. Looking at the reviews on the site they are by proper fan boys, very few are useful unless you need the reassurance that you have done the right thing
I should have known that they select their reviews, it's not trip advisor but it just shows the level of insecurity that the company has.
On the plus side they have just opened a cafe in Majorca with free coffee for their RCC members. Useful news.
What a cool story.

I presume they'd publish reasonably critical reviews so long as they weren't unnecessarily insulting.
Realistically, what did you hope to achieve with the little dig?
but chucked in a comment that they were perfect for fat arsed golfists moving over to road cycling
A future in reviewing awaits then.
Weird how they haven't published a 'review' where you add a comment that contains a term some may find offensive, and belittles the brand, but doesn't add anything constructive.
My arse is quite fat, but I don't like golf, are they as good as Aldi?

Wow it's a great review, what about the product made you think it was useful?
So you use and like the product, but slag their customer base off?
Hang on, you are a fat arsed golfer!
Corporate scum just like Strava.
I imagine you were giggling with unbridled gee when you were composing the review, ohh the wit shines bright with this one but alas you have been disappointed with the non publication of your witty remark so you've posted on this forum to garner a response to satisfy your desire for public acknowledgement of your rightful position as arbitrator of humour.
As it means that much to your ego............. just for you, have an alternative "like"

Wonder what else is in the op's shopping basket

Head.
Given their sizing, fat-arsed golfists is one market segment they won't fit!

Exactly what came to my mind. When an XXL is for a 38" waist I don't think they are intended for fat golfers.
Still don't let that get in the way of an otherwise excellent review...
I checked the reviews of their winter gloves and some weren't great so I don't think the brand is afraid to post bad reviews. They probably just avoiding publishing ones that include childish, pointless comments.
Is this going in the way the op intended?
I thought it was going to be a steps to sobriety post, but it was just someone upset that their snarky cleverness wasn't appreciated by a company owned by the man who also owns Evans.
I was hoping it was a thread about newcastle's abject defending yesterday which appears to have sent the championship title to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Oh dear
shows the level of insecurity
Certainly does, doesn't it? ๐
I love burn threads!
I had a similar experience when I reviewed a toaster for John Lewis. I started off by comparing its controllability and build quality to other comparable products from the likes of Kenwood and Morphy Richards, where it did pretty well, but chucked in a comment saying that John Lewis customers were smug, middle class, bourgeois ****s who deserve a good slap in the face.
Must have hit a nerve because the review wasn't posted. Just shows the level of insecurity that the company has.
On the plus side, they have just opened a new branch in Milton Keynes where people can buy toasters. Useful news ๐
๐ @ BadlyWiredDog.
Seems barbecue season has arrived.
Read some pretty critical reviews on their site, enough to deter me from buying the items I was looking at.
Also read a few that have humourously mocked the brand and it's image (so the reviewers effectively being self deprecating).
They probably have an infantile insult filter, though.
Pointless and factually incorrect. Well done OP, you should be very proud .
by a company owned by the man who also owns Evans.
nope.
As rants go its not to bad i guess fits the general accepted shape of a rant and compares well to others bellow par on mispelling and random capitalisation. Swear avoidance poor noted use of arse instead of the slightly more mundane americanism.
All in perfect for a bunch of fat arsed internet warriors on a bike forum.
company owned by the man who also owns Evans.
Eh? ๐
I still can't understand why people who own a Rapha hat should celebrate.
Schools still on Easter break?
Tee, Rapha are part owned by the same private equity firm that own Evans (and Finisterre and several other brands). I think that's what they were trying to refer to?

This is also not true. Though closer. One of Rapha's earliest investors was Active Private Equity. Active used to own Evans Cycles (It was I believe the CE of Evans that introduced Mottram to Active when he was a small start up). Active sold Evans to ECI back in 2015.
I assume the op's username was chosen because they still sleep with theirs. ๐
Has he been back yet?
I'm in Mallorca and can barely contain my excitement at the thought of a Rapha cafe, could I strava how long it takes me to drink my espresso?
Are you a RCC menber then and not a fan boy ?
