Not sure what he’d been saying previously, but immediately prior to striking that pose he announced “…and this is how they do it in France”.
PSA: whilst the pub photo was being taken, I stripped bollocko in the R&C car park. Just thought you should know.
Can someone give me an idea where Base Camp will be please. Quite fancy more new trails. And I'll bring cake !
I'm guessing it will be from the middle of Ramsbottom
Edit - Derek, can't beat a quick game of Car Park Naked, eh?
Last time we met at The Rose & Crown at the bottom of The Rake. I see no reason to change it.

Just round the corner from my house so barring acts of god I'll be there

Probably up for this. Might be able to give you a lift if you want NBT?
I'd imagine there'll be two of us, Sam 😉
Oh - as well as stripping in the car park, I'll also be doing the ride! I will put on some clothing prior to departure though.
Looking forward to it. I like touching turbine towers...
Derek, can't beat a quick game of Car Park Naked, eh?
I agree (ambient temps >18 deg. C only - shrinkage an all that can take the edge off it!)
Can I come too?
Can I come too?
Can you impersonate a pooing Frenchman?
What's going on with the wheel in that bottom pic?
It suffered a total existance failure on a flight of steps.
Plummer had to stamp on it a couple of times to get it back on the bike.
Minor details..... 😳 I'll try not to fall in a puddle on this ride.
Can you impersonate a pooing Frenchman?
Not sure but I'll give it a bloody good Anglo Saxon go!
😆
Welcome aboard!
Count me in! I love starting a ride by riding up the rake, me 😀
See you all there, assuming i'm not being told i'm dead again... 😆
I'm going to try and make it
I have a bigger/stronger wheel for the steps of doom so hope I can
Plum
PS that last wheel wasn't close to going back on so lovely binners walked back to the pub with me 🙂
Thats Binners. He'll put himself out for anyone. Imagine a leisurely walk back with a few fags - hellish. A real trooper that man 😉
I have pooed(sp) like a Frenchman on/in France. 😆 Can I come now please ? 😉
Oui.
I'll be there. Is a french poodle o.k? It can ride in the basket up front.
Where is papa anyway?
Where is papa anyway?
France. Working on his technique.
Good evening. What the **** am I doing in that photo?
Count me in.
P_L, as a man with better local knowledge than me how about...
Pub
Rake
Holcombe Hill
Irwell Vale
That climb up the farm track missing out the roads
Coal Road
Windfarm
Rooley Moor Road
Ashworth Res
Nangreaves
Rammy
Pub
Do-able in 3 hours if we don't fanny about?
Probably up for this. Might be able to give you a lift if you want NBT?
Don't you need a fully qualified driver to accompany you? I'd come along but I'm not sure Jules will tolerate me since I inflicted Will on him... 😉
Think this is the same windfarm,Sadly yesterday a crane driver lost his life, when returning from the top of the quarry, after unloading a wind turbine replacement for one that was damaged, his mobile crane tipped over killing him.

Is it a chocolate poodle?
would love to do this ride again but can't make the 10th, 3rd or 17th would of been fine 🙁
Sounds good. there's the option of some cheekyness down into irwell vale like last time and How about a visit to the micro brewery owning lord raglen in nangreaves before tackling the rocky descent back down into rammy?
Do-able in 3 hours if we don't fanny about?
you are on a STW ride!
I've only got a tight time window. Nothing to stop you lot having a pint though.
irwell works micro brewery
This interesting little micro brewery has been threatening to open for a while and could be an option afterwards.
My dad would be driving, obviously. Jules was looking for you most of the time so didnt really see Will for very long. May well have been too long mind.... 😉
Have you jumped off the wagon again then Paps? All this talk of microbreweries is making me thirsty!
and while it might be doable in three hours, it's a forum ride, if we finish in five I'd be amazed.
Room for a fat lad?
I should be able to make this.. 🙂
If time is tight then from the turbines I would take the cheeky trail to Owd Betts, a short road section to the Rossendale School descent, If you are OK for time you can loop around the quarry to take in the rocky DH to the lights on the top road. Go left then take the plunge right, cross the motorway bridge and then it's cheeky woods or the steps of doom.
Teetosugars.I can give you a lift if you want.
