[#12074012]

Very little chat here or none I've noticed about the most outrageous freeride event of the year from 6pm UK tomorrow.

Well, I'd actually missed that it was live on Friday - so a genuine thanks from me.

Is that the qualis or is it finals only this year with the reduced rider roster?

Follow our Instagram stories for plenty of news from the site. It rained on Tuesday, making the running really slow yesterday, but great dirt for building. Lacondeguy is out after a crash yesterday, broken collarbone. Nasty ATV topple off the edge of a cliff yesterday, maybe 20/30ft feet of fall, helivac for the driver but I’ve no confirmed info on condition. Hearing Carson Storch shorted a drop and may be out of tomorrow too…fingers crossed not. Am I bitter I’m not there…? A bit! The flights were booked 😢

@weeksy just for you. But you could definitely view Instagram stories in a browser quicker than it took me to do all that!

Part of not using Instagram is telling everyone you don't use it. It's like veganism.

Pinkbike coverage is grand. I’ll be watching tomorrow, Shane Emil isn’t in it but Brage V should make for a fun debut 🥳

I’ve just had my evening FaceTime update! It’s been windy but it seems to be dropping a bit now. It’s dried out from yesterday apart from some shady patches, so it’s running faster. Jaxson Riddle seems to be the only one hitting lines just now, everyone else is waiting for the wind to drop. Night!

Brage is out 🙁 came up short guinea pigging his drop and took a big hit.
Storch won't be starting either, taken out how collarbone 🙁
I don't remember the attrition rate ever being this high before. :/

It's on pinkbike and a few vids on the gram. Shoulder injury.
Had him and andreu in my dream team so I must be cursed.

Semenuk is doing Semenuk things with a single crown fork - tailwhip off a big ol' drop. He's gonna be the man to beat this year.

Said it before about world cups but this kind of event would be properly good in a welcoming drinking establishment and on the big screen!

Video of the drop in Tippie's IG, and confirmation from RB of his withdrawal on *ahem* another site. 🙁
Was really looking forward to watching him make the desert quake. Heal up quick, you big friendly viking.

I knew Brage had crashed but when i checked a few hours ago it wasn't decided if he'd ride or pull-out.
It's a tough place to ride. It makes me laugh that the sofa-freeriders all slate the place as being too groomed/planned...but really.. it is in a way, but doesn't make it less of a spectacle.

So basically it will be won by whoever doesn't prang themselves in practice. I may as well turn up on the day, roll up to the start line and win. Everyone else will have broken themselves.

Wish I hadn't watched Brage's crash now.

🙁

Zink apparently bruised his lung (I didn't know that was possible) and still looking to ride.

New Photos

I'd like to get out there one day. It's definitely the kind of environment you can't fully appreciate until you're standing in the middle of it.

When you hear riders say they got halfway down before they remembered to breathe, maybe it’s not much of a hinderance

@P20 Red Bull TV - App on your phone/ipad/smart TV/whatever, or it works through a Browser window too if you dont have any of that stuff.

Its worth watching on the big TV though, the footage and coverage is great.

Hopefully we dont have the long wind-induced delays of last time (2019, seems an age ago!).

6PM-ISH UK time, although expect the timings to be a bit 'loose' I reckon, very much dicated by weather and when the guys feel ready. I can't wait.

I wonder why they returned to the 2016/17 venue as i thought it was unpopular with the riders as its particularly exposed (I remember sam reynolds saying f... this at the start gate)

its the photos that scare me - the spine landing for Sorge's big drop and the peak at Storch's big drop on his pinkbike line run through (which had computer game graphics for simple me to relate to)

im ready to be shot down but does any here think they'd have a go at the Strait/Zink chute? I know, I know 🙂

Brandon, Sorge, Jaxson

It is going to be a battle of who can do the most insane tricks now the lines are quite settled so it will be tough for Strait.

The one I think has put so much in to Rampage over a number of years and been hideously underscored and under appreciated is Tyler McCaul. I would love to see him get a good result.

apparently they had an issue getting the licenses through for the new site in time so had to go back.

Its a shame brage is out as his line was more raw/brendog style. the main zone is quite built out now so less raw gnar. its still friggin gnarly but more amplitude gnar rather than tech gnar.

Interesting, I can't remember brendog's lines from 2016/2017 at this venue. There's no proper 'outside' line like there was at the 2008-15 venue or the 2018/19. Ideally you'd get a new venue every year but I appreciate that its moon on a stick territory

There was james doerfling's huge drop which was outside the main lines but dunno where that is now

Still a big fan of the 2008-15 venue. 'Classic' rampage

any surprise moves for the finals?

from what I can gather Storch was going to spin his big drop but he's out
Sorge or TVS will likely flip their biggest drop
Semenuk will obviously tailwhip his drop and flip whip at the bottom.
there'll be a big flap about some dodgy scoring
McCaul won't get a medal again

I'll be watching but now that Brage is out there's no surprise package it seems

We normally watch it on the tv app, but we’re in an air bnb with an LG tv that doesn’t do the red bull app. Will be on the iPad if all else fails

Can you broadcast live from a drone? I bet there's loads of wild drone footage afterwards.
