Bizet's run was bonkers compared to Aggy. No idea why he didn't win quali by miles with that.

yeah I thought that

are they just being nice to aggy coz he always crashes out in the finals 😉

Nicholi's crash video is up

Absolutely incredible.
Shows how quickly things can go so wrong.

these POV's really don't do the video's any justice.. I couldn't understand NR's crash in terms of basically everything gnarliness, distance etc until you see it from the side/front on...

ooft thse guys are tough as nails... hats off to Nicholi just insane.

Fair play to Robotkid...I had him pegged as a hucking bmx reject.Who knew he was batshit mental as well.
POV does'nt really show how massive Aggy's gaps are.Rampage always prioritizes 'Gnar' over tricks.
If Lacondeguy is good to ride a throws his signature tricks on his and Aggy's line no one will get near him.

Safe to assume that most of these don't *have* to compete at Ramapge to pay the rent. Most of them will have a pretty decent wage, it's the cache, exposure and potential future earning competing/winning Rampage will bring.

I'd love to know where you think the mega bucks for the "pretty decent wage" are coming from... sure they get the basics covered but unless you are a Semenuk (incidentally with wealthy folks anyway) then you're riding for the love of it and scraping by.

I guess it varies from rider to rider, Brendan Fairclough for example seems to have little trouble buying motorbikes for fun or buying and running an Audi RS4 - you're not running an RS4 on 'scraping by' money, but of course he's a full-time WC racer.

As for the rest, I said the same thing on Pinkbike a few weeks ago, I worry about the more fringe riders, are they there because they really want to be, or are they there for the 'profile' so they can get sponsors / jobs so they don't have to get a day job, Profile pays more than results in MTBing, going back to BF - he's been back on form this year, but he's had a couple of stinker seasons where he's struggled to get into the top 10 in any WC race and not qualified for the Worlds, but he keeps his factory ride and presumably income because he's a super stylish rider to watch and does videos and Rampage which sells bikes and bits.

I'd like to think they're all up for it, but sometimes I think in the back of their mind they're being driven to be involved in the latest RedBull publicity event (like that 'thing' in China when McGarry's brakes failed) - I think it should be treated more like Nitro Circus or something, appearance fees, rather than prizes.

would you know who Kelly McGarry was if it wasn't for Rampage?

Er... Yes. He's been riding stuff like this quite a long time

You'll be telling us you've never heard of Glen Jacobs and Mud Cows next. 😛

Ah, new names, old attitudes 🙂

Er... Yes. He's been riding stuff like this quite a long time

Well yes, imagine most on this thread in this forum probably would have. Was really a more a question of the wider public. I'm sure a LOT more people knew about him after Rampage than before.

There are Red Bull apps available for some smart TVs.
I'll be watching on my iPad or computer though.

If you re-read what I said it's impossible to disagree with. No one is forcing any of these guys to compete at it. With the exception of a few wild cards most of these guys are flying all over the world competing at showcase events. For every Will White, there's a Brandon Semenuk.

Whilst the average STW London Banker probably loses more down their sofa, a lot of these guys get a decent wage by most people's standards for flying around the world riding their bikes in places the rest of us pay to go (and that's just from their main sponsor in most cases).

A lot of them have plenty of other revenue streams. For example a friend of mine pointed out that a pro racer he knew had £25,000 worth of bikes and bits for sale at the end of a season.

Kind of beaten to it by Kimbers but, P-Jay, having a shiny car isn't too hard if all of your income is disposable.

If Lacondeguy is good to ride a throws his signature tricks on his and Aggy's line no one will get near him.

Sounds like he is still out as far as I can tell

EDIT

I'd like to think they're all up for it, but sometimes I think in the back of their mind they're being driven to be involved in the latest RedBull publicity event (like that 'thing' in China when McGarry's brakes failed) - I think it should be treated more like Nitro Circus or something, appearance fees, rather than prizes.

Can't disagree with that 😀

Bizet was robbed. Once again the Judges screw it up and score one run too highly.

Why is Red Bull TV so glitchy?!! Saw Fairclough and then nothing. Watching via android smart phone with good connection, what's going on? Not the first time I've found their live streams effing crap!!!

Red Bull TV on iPad and iPhone has been rock solid for me for the last 2 years of Redbull and World Cup DH.

I always like it when the FIRE people turn up. "What's his condition?" "Dunno but I'm pretty sure he's not on fire" "Sure?" "Yeah". "DANG IT!" "Maybe next time"

After all the o-faces and pretend calm responses it's nice to see someone a bit shocked at his scores

I'm not quite following why Aggy got such a high score. Metailler my favourite so far too.
