Even if it were... If you took, say, spooky woods and put it on top of a big mental cliff, I still wouldn't bloody ride it. TBH you'd not get me up there in the first place even if the riding was like a canal path, I wouldn't even want to walk around up there 😆
Also, Claudio is awesome.
Every time I see brendogs run I'm amazed he didn't podium. That triple canyon gap is nuts.
Unfortunately it seems he has to flip something to get a podium.
Gents please... Give us the TV stations and times pwwwwleeeeese.

Just read this on the redbull website -
"UPDATE: Due to heavy rains and thunderstorms expected in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday, the Red Bull Rampage schedule has changed in order to ensure the best and safest possible conditions for both competitors and spectators. The Finals will be moved from Saturday, October 17 to Friday, October 16."
Thats my Friday night sorted then. It looks like coverage will start at 17.30.
Great thanks for the info, love this event. It's become an important watch in the Bouy household.
Gonna be watching this tomorrow with the boy.
Do we know if you can watch the whole thing on cath up on red bull TV or do you have to watch live? I seem to remember starting to watch it quite late on last year but its a 17:30 start tomoz and the boy has a school disco until 19:00!

I just find myself thinking "what am I watching?" It's insane.
Previous years events where available for ages after the event on Redbull's site. I think you can still watch the whole of the 2013 event.
Also I think its on at 17.30 GMT but as we're on BST at the moment it'll be on at 18.30pm.
aggy qualified top in 1st quali round

Is that "Jaws"?
Apparently Bizet has flipped the canyon gap.
The video of him doing so is in kimbers post just up there
Holy shit! So smooth!
NOW TV boxes can now get Red Bull TV, might be the same with other plug in internet TV receivers, better than watching it on a laptop!
Definitely an awesome Friday nights entertainment!
Just noticed that a lot of the riders are running 26" wheels with 2.7 tyres. Does that make them retro? Fat minus? The next big thing?
Aggy qualified 1st

Utterly, utterly bonkers. And compelling viewing.
Shame Nico Vink seems to have binned it on his line and not qualified, I was looking forward to watching him try and ride that. Truly bonkers. I'm assuming he's ok...
If that is who I think it is ^^^ then I think he got up and had another run 😯
The speed of this run!

Had a wee rant about this elsewhere. The prize money is circa £30k??? An absolute pisstake for risk vs reward given the money red bull make...
Well that reschedule is a bit of luck for me! I've got to suffer 3 hours of school disco today from 530pm - but there's wi-fi in the parents room!!
Get in, headphones on, just need to perfect my "GO AWAY" look for the "hiiiiiii" nicey nicey types.

From pinkbike
At the first ever Rampage, the prize money for the event was $8,000, which in today's money - bearing in mind the rate of inflation - equates to nearly $11,000. Jump to 2015 and the total prize fund is a juicy $100,000. To the victor and the runners up go the spoils - a split of the $100,000 from first to the top few runners-up - and to the People's Choice award winner, a Polaris RZR. The timeless debate will continue as to whether the prize money for the competitors should increase to reflect the challenges faced by the riders, or whether it should be kept reasonable so that riders don't feel the pressure of unduly risking themselves for a mere wad of cash
Its heading in the right direction, and getting there vs other comps such as FMX and snowsports.
Even though the prize money is not massive, I think the overall earnings of people who are memorable at Rampage would compensate somewhat.
I'm not too sure the prize money is even a motivational factor. It just has to reflect the quality of the field.
Safe to assume that most of these don't *have* to compete at Ramapge to pay the rent. Most of them will have a pretty decent wage, it's the cache, exposure and potential future earning competing/winning Rampage will bring.
Photo Reel of Nico Vink's insane line and unfortunate crash:

Darren Berrecloth - footage a bit mangled, but the top section looks totally insane. My hands are feeling funny
Agassiz run made my stomach feel funny due to the amount of air time he had.
I think he could be a winner this year. I hope so as he is a fantastic rider!
2nd place quali run PoV:
Something tells me my hands aren't going to feel normal for the whole day!
Just watched claudio 😆 what a dude!

Bizet's run was bonkers compared to Aggy. No idea why he didn't win quali by miles with that.
It is a crazy line, from the photo series posted earlier you can see he had a bit too much forward momentum before turning in for the drop and drifted over to his left hitting a rock rather than the landing slope. Not exactly something you can work up to in stages and bail a few times before nailing it!

I'd love to know where you think the mega bucks for the "pretty decent wage" are coming from... sure they get the basics covered but unless you are a Semenuk (incidentally with wealthy folks anyway) then you're riding for the love of it and scraping by.
If anyone's in/around Leeds they are showing this live on a big screen at Duke Studios with food/beers etc.
Rogatkin is a nutter. Monster crash, dust yourself off, clear the canyon gap and finish with a flip 😯

Big showcase shop window breakthrough type event to ride at (for instance, would you know who Kelly McGarry was if it wasn't for Rampage?) with subsequent sponsorship deals etc. for a good ride. And I'd assume some contractual commitment to ride it for Red Bull sponsored riders too.
Nicholi's crash video is up on pinkbike if anyone is interested. How he gets back on the bike and clears the canyon gap is beyond me.
