'Waiting for Brant'......

Has anyone fitted the TD-1 with a bouncy fork.
Yes I know........its a 440 rigid frame build but there most be someone who has bucked the trend and fitted a suspension fork. ๐Ÿ’ก

Anyone โ“

Rather than being a 'trend', it's designed around a 440mm rigid fork, so fitting a much longer suspension fork would bugger the handling which would be a shame cos it handles brilliantly.

Why would you want to do it?

Raises the BB half an inch and slackens angles by 1.5deg. What can go wrong?

If I designed frames and people insisted that they knew best and kept on ignoring my advice I'd eventually get pretty pissed.

Summer Season - short forks? bollocks lets put some mahoosive ones on, it'll be loads better....

MMMpig - 50mm stem? bollocks that'll look weird, I'll stick a 90mm one on instead...

TD-1 - Rigid forks? Nah, I think it'll be miles better with suspension...

Why do people decide they want a "different" frame and then try and turn it back into the norm?

(To be fair though, if I designed frames they'd be crap.)

I can see trying to use a cheap frame for something it was designed for, ie. sticking 140mm forks on a scandal.

But spending over a grand on a frame and then compromising performance is just silly.
