What does everyone think about it and is it worth buying ?
It would be nice if they could be bothered to update their website...
Hmmm. I love my BluePig X but wouldn't fancy losing any handling/manouvrability for throwing into corners and such, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Bigwig climbed better (HA, tyre contact patch etc).
I'm not enthused about the standard QR dropout or the bridged seatstay but a longer tube needs a bit more support.
I'd be keen to try one but imagine it to be more trail than the hooligan my BPX feels like; which is exactly what a lot of people are after! I reckon it'll be popular as long as Ragley doesn't drop the ball with quality control.
Real reviews and tests needed!
What are the odds it's bolted together right? My experience of far eastern Ragley QC/manufacturing was that it's awful, only 1 out of 3 was fit for sale and even it wasn't perfect. My american Ragley otoh is incredibly awesome ๐
Is there a Linsk where your Ragl should be Northwind?
I'm picking mine up on Monday so I'll post some pics when it's done & let you know, most importantly how it rides ๐
Got two wigs, a pig and a piglet to build next week, initial impressions is that the frames are much nicer finished than last year. As a cheaper alternative to a TransAm29 or a Buzzard it looks like a winner.

I would love to see your bike shinsplints , and thanks guys, I've heard it's stupidly fast downhill and isn't bad at climbing so it seems like a win win
Will do mate will post when done
Sounds great, tell me how it rides
What spec have you got on it?
2 x 10 SLX/XT drivetrain
Reba RL Ti 120mm 20mm axle
Flows on Pro 2 Evos
KS dropper post
Sunline 762 bars, 50mm race face stem etc
Great spec
What tyres for wigs
Mr Hans Dampf on the front , Mr Nobby Nic on the back
Ennit
Si, Have you checked that a Hans Dampf will fit on the front?
The Reba's are not the most spacious fork and the Hans tyres are meant to be ma-hoosive?
A 2.4 Ardent wouldn't fit on my Reba teams. The new Revs have a few mm's extra clearance so everything fits a bit better.
Steve, yes mate it fits in fine, not acres of room but it will be ok
What time will you post the pictures?
Have you got any pics of your bigwig yet?
I can't link to them from this tablet but I've just posted some on my Flickr account if you search for shropshiresi you should find them ๐
First impressions are its a nicely finished frame, paint seems good quality, only ridden it around the carpark so far as not had chance to get out so will post back when I've done so. I'll see how the 120mm fork goes for a while but will consider getting a set of the Crc Revs whilst they are cheap to keep as spares, then unspace (new word !) them to 140 ๐
What does it ride like?
No problem Clink, rubbish iPhone pics but at least we are keeping the world updated (unlike Ragley ) ๐
Can you link to the one of the Headtube badge, it's nice ๐
Cheers Clink, we should work for ragleys web department ๐
๐
Between the three of us we are better than ragleys PR team, website and general advertising.
That's actually nice! Is that kinked top tube achieving anything? Looks like it gains you .001mm of top tube clearance in return for a wee bit of added ugly.
Lovely head badge! It is a badge, not just a sticker?
Kinked top tube is just radsik, no other reason.
Proper metal Headtube badge, adds to front end stability ๐
I like that.
I think I will have one coming my way very soon
Where could I order one online if I found it way too nice to resist? Purely hypothetically of course...
Plush Hill Cycles, Church Stretton. Tell them Simon sent you
Yep northwind it is a proper metal badge - got one on my American built Ragley (and no other badges/stickers) looks great. You can buy the badge from CRC.
Edit: you can't buy them from CRC - out of stock ๐
I would not want to add the grams to my titanium ego-chariot
But it is a lovely badge.
Good point - but then my ti ego chariot needed a couple of grams extra on the frame to balance its big tyres and dustbin lid size rotors ๐
Bigwig looks great to me (for a clown bike) ๐
Clown Bikes do not exist anymore, the bike that dont look normal are 26"
shinsplints, guessing your Wig is the size 20"?
Has anyone built the 18" and have profile pictures in hand?
Whats with the bent chainstays? Ragley really know how to design an ugly looking frame.
Yes, mines a 20"
Pics show with a 120mm fork but just pulled the trigger on a 130mm Rev ๐
Let me guess Tom, you ride an orange 5 ? ๐
Anyway, if anyone is actually interested in how it rides, it's superb. I expected it to be great downhill but it really surprised me on the climbs, goes uphill better than any other hard tail or full suss I've ridden. V pleased.
Had chance to ride it yet? What's it like? ๐
Look up there ๐
Wow, is weight an issue?
Me or the bike ? ๐
The bike, no. It flies. Weighs in at just under 30 lbs with pedals, not a mega lightweight but the wheels & tubeless set up spin up to speed nicely. Point it down anything & it comes alive.
