Just read that on Sicklines facebook post. Thought they were a big player in components here to stay.

less ugly swirly designs on parts and piss poor warranty back up is a good thing in my book. 😉

when you headed up this way, Jedi?

Yep, no great loss - £120 bottom brackets made of cheese & Silverfish customer service was a joke.
Cranks looked nice but wouldn't risk it after previously using their kit.

Cranks, bars, stems and seatpost were good. BB's not so good.

Might be some cheap stuff going. I fancy an Atlas FR stem.

Shame IMO.
Just removes choice and competition. BBs weren't great but theres plenty of rubbish kit about, avid made juicy brakes for a few years.

'Silverfish circus of dirt' doesn't quite have the same ring 😕

Wowser... I'm shocked. I thought they were a strong brand with a good following. I wonder if it was poor business decisions, market forces, or some other bullsh*t bingo reason?

I remember when RaceFace took over Roach pads/clothing, they were never the same quality pad again 🙁

Have also experienced Silverfish shite warranty years ago and their attitude sucked back then.

I'd live to say the RF stuff I've had over the years has been brilliant, but I can't. It's OK, but no better than FSA and Shimano cranksets are a lot nicer. Bought mrs PP a RF jacket. It's OK but not waterproof at all. The Altura I replaced it with for her is way better.

I think that's it: Premium branding and pricing that can't compete with the 'good vale' brands like FSA and Altura on performance.

Sad really though. I hope someone picks the name up and sorts them out like On One with Titus and Hotlines (is it?) with Nuke Proof

Shimano. Not glam, not trendy, but they work.

"balls, my RF bb just died, what are my alternatives? the cheaper the better"

Shimano for about £25 is the standard, but they aren't very well sealed and the bearings are difficult to remove from the cups.

Hope/Wheels Manufacturing.

Real Shame but they really are over priced compared to the competition but one of the few manufacturers to do coloured kit made them attractive.

Some of there stuff isn't great, but a lot of it is. Hope someone buys them up - how much do you think it'd cost to buy raceface? 😛

had some bars, seatposts etc from them. Always seemed to be good solid kit.

Regardless, shame to see one of the big mountain bike companies disappear. Hopefully somebody will buy them and keep at least some of the staff in work.

Every RF product I've had has been great (including cranks). Never had any of the clothing though. The canadians seem to like it enough.

well my 'RaceFace' 'bottom bracket' has lasted me well into 18 months and still going strong. 😉 tho i see they have changed to this now ...'Shimano SM51 Hollow Tech 2 bottom bracket- on the 'orange bikes' now....
i liked the designer cranks tho alittle expensive...
yeah so gud luck to people who worked for RaceFace with the job situation... 😉

Shame - I did like most of their stuff (BBs and Chainrings of cheese excepted obviously).

As others have said, I'm sure the name won't die - ripe for a buy-out?

I think it's sad news. ( coincidentally, wearing a RF t-shirt at the mo). Despite having to saw off a pair of Deus cranks, have found most of their stuff to be good. Have their stems on two bikes.
Originally were the component arm of Rocky Mountain. --
Always a shame to see a small company go under particularly in the bike industry.

I've been pretty happy with their cranks, bars, seatposts and stems but don't think much of their other stuff.

I'd love some of their purple cranks though. Seriously...

I'll bet CRC buy them up...
