just looking at the Muc Off 8, £160 for a team of 4 where as most 24hr's are £200 , seems more expensive than most. is it just me ?

It's a business. If it's too expensive they'll get few take up and lose money and potentially not run it again. That's business for you. Stick your product/service on the market at the price you think it will sell for. If you're in a shop you can discount if things are selling well to try to move them. With an event you are really stuck with your price that you go in at. If you discount cos places aren't selling then you are going to have a lot of p'ed off early entrants to deal with.

And who is to say that costs are the same? Different parkland or whatever may well have different charges than another venue. Services to that site may also well be more expensive in one area than another.

When you are 70 years old you won't remember the race fees - you will remember the fun and heroic riding with old friends at the race. OR you wont remember anything not even where you live.
