LX post mount calipers are naturally 160mm at the front

Im I right in thinking that an IS to Post adaptor usually makes a 180mm set up up front? and does the same adaptor at the rear with the post caliper make a 160mm rear?

Depends on the mount i think. You can get is to post for any size rotor front or rear. I've got them from 160 to 203.

Aha, think Ive got it with a bit of trial and error.

the adaptors that come with the LX calipers give 160mm on the front, but less than that on the back so you need a bigger adaptor at the back to give you 160mm which if it was used on the front would give 180mm...I think ๐Ÿ™‚

cheers

Yep, rear (160mm) mount placed on the front fork gives you a 180mm mount.

managed to find the shimano tech docs.

the only difference between the m585 fron and rear are the adaptors that come with it. You would have thought a sensible IS would have been to have the same relative position for the mounts from the axle centre for both forks and frames ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

cheers all.
