Swapping the CX drivetrain over for the road. Is 11 speed, 34 cassette, 50/34 double going to be ok with a short cage 105 Der?
Seems to shift alright in the stand but not ridden it in anger yet.
Considering a 105 medium cage rear mech is 32t max and 37t capacity, assuming you have 11-34 then you need long cage as you have 34t max and 37t total. Short ain’t gonna work.

Took it out for a 45 mile spin this morning and it was fine with the short cage. Do you reckon this is one of those if it works, it works - happy days? Or is an exploding derailleur in the post sooner or later?
If it works then crack on.
If it's OK in small:small and big:big then carry on. There aren't any chain growth issues on road bikes*.
