i'm looking for a new bike - local dealers 2010 stock gone - see a few with other dealers but no mail order available (i'm in the Isle of Man). i know Cannondale used to be like this but why? is it a quality control issue? Looks like it might be Stumpy instead

Trek's official line is that they can't warranty a bike unless it has been assembled and checked by a qualified bike mechanic.
