Hey sharki, how did you get on at the fracture clinic?
Lance Armstrong broke his collar bone in 4 places and had a 5" plate and 12 screws to put it back together, he'll be back on the turbo trainer next week!!

I dont see why not..10.45 at the main princetown carpark . Usual nuns cross to the resevoir and back along the railway line route at a gentle pace ish. I'll be in my blue Vauxhall astra estate and have a terrible memory for faces.

sm500, I dug out those rigid forks but they are only 380mm axle to crown, let me know if they're any good.

Dibbs.

Consultant was great....

I turned up there with little or no pain, just a slight ache in fact.

He asked me to stand, then he poked his finger into the broken bit of bone which made me wince a lot, he stroked my shoulder and asked if i could feel it ok, asked me to move my arm at the elbow which i did.

"ok" he said, "i'll see you back here in 5 weeks, we'll do an x-ray and see if it's knitted back together, if not we'll need to look further into helping it repair."

Nice!!!!! Money talks eh?

Father-in-law is ill so that's put an end to my Somerset excursion. Might nip up there for an afternoon in the week though.

May I ask, is Smith's Combe rideable at the minute? Haven't ridden it for ages.

The rangers are aware of it's state and as of this week they should be making an effort in clearing up the rest of the damage made by the snow......

There was a tree down in the stream crossing in smiths as well as numerous fir tree branches on the main bumpy bit, it is ridable but not in the usual manner.....the single track was clear though, the climb out is still the same and makes it one of the less liked DH's for many locals, but it still remains a classic trail for so many tourists..

The amount of dead sheep down there may have something to do with why we don't go down there much.......
