Anyone know any campsites that are right at the base of the Quantocks, eg less than a coupleo of miles road riding required? I can see a couple of big holiday camps east of Watchet, but not a lot else. Need space for a small camper, but basic facilities would do.

cheers

Go for home farm holiday centre 12 pitches own beach great views .

Don't be put off by the holiday homes we stay there a lot they normally say it's ok to stay pitched on sunday so you can ride then come back get cleaned up and head home too

A short uphill ride of a mile or so gets you straight on to the trails

Hope this helps

Moorhouse farm, just north of Holford. Right on the edge and right at the bottom of a few excellent coombes.

I've heard good things about the Quantock orchard although I've not stayed, they hire bikes as well.
