Thanks for that - very interesting! I remember we timed eachother round it once, back in the 90s on rigid bikes - was about 35 mins IIRC. Now 41m+ (reckon I could do it in an hour 🙂 )
^ Scott's post above says how much more awesome this area can be or is with local knowledge.. both those sections are another level (difficulty) from anything on red.
frankly they scare me.
just noticed red on strava is missing last section, who set this up? :p it finishes in't car park not half way round big berm..
I've put the 1st part of the MTB Tour video up, the prologue at Fort Nelson. It was on youtube already, but not the whole thing, so as I'd transferred the video, thought I might as well put it up there.
I'll get the QECP race up tonight.
Surprised to see the number of Pro-Flex full sussers in the race. Especially as the prologue was a "grassy field". Ideal 29er race territory (or so I'm led to believe!)
QE race -
Cheers DezB 😀
Excellent stuff Dez! Did you have them on video tape still?
Alex, I set that segment up. It does finish in the correct place, just not lined up properly on the map. You can see the squiggles at the end, that'll be the berms 🙂 The segment doesnt include the latest part of "never seen it" though, my other segment does, but you can see that my GPS signal must have been crap as there are lots of dodgey looking parts:
