PX are advertising this bike as a new product but it's identical to the Pro Carbon ? I own a Pro Carbon but not sure painting it a gopping yellow and red and saying it has Italian heritage will make someone buy one who wouldn't buy a Pro Carbon in the first place or am I missing something ?

think rouleur did an article about them- supposedly bought the recently bankrupt heritage brand and are plannung to ship all the kit over from Italy so they can build them here and it'll be P-X's premium brand. Or as they said on Mock-the-Week of Aldi's premium range, "slightly less sh1t".

It does look like theyre testing the water with a resprayed Pro Carbon, though.

Yeah I read the article and I believe the top end bike used by the Christina Watches pro team is the genuine article but that Gladium is obviously a Pro Carbon and just seems an odd thing to try and pull off because it's so obvious ?

Plenty of other European companies use Taiwanese frames.
How much design input do they have?
I fail to see a problem.

No problem just seems an odd thing for the same company to sell same bike as two completely different models and advertise as a new product ??

Rusty, the problem isnt thats its another chinese-sourced frame with a different brand badge (which is odd enough when it competes directly on price and spec with your own line, bit like the Holdsworth stuff they were pushing a while back) but that it appears to be the SAME frame re-badged. Nothing other than the stickers and paintscheme differentiates them. Like buying a new Yeti and discovering its a Santa Cruz with a paintjob.

I think its getting the Viner brand name more exposure beyond those that knew it was an Italian bespoke builder prior increasing the size of the range (and the cost of some of the models).

Quite like the colour myself ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I was just going to start a thread saying the same thing, i don't think they are trying to hoodwink anyone, just seems a very odd thing to do when the frame is so obviously the same as one they already sell.
