[Closed] putting egg beaters back together

ok so i was changing the bearings on my egg beaters,thought id give them a good clean by pulling a rag through them oops i pulled the metal shaft out of the pedal and it fell apart,how do i get them back together please anyone?

grtdkad did you take your all the way apart mine are in 4 pieces i cant seem to get it bank together ive read somewhere you need a special tool to put them back together.

From what this guy says (about half way down the page) the pieces should just slot back together alright. He's done a little step by step guide

Did mine last month, very old ones with the lose bearings (about the size of a nib in a ball point pen), no surprises I managed to drop one. Put them back together, minus the missing bearing and it seemed ok. Four miles down the road and it locked solid and unwound from the crank, must have tightened the lock nuts up a little too tight. Three attempts at freeing it off failed miserably, then had to ride home using one leg, talk about burn. Moral of the story, walk, don't try riding with one leg! Still love my eggbeaters though.
