I have a set of pushed pikes on my Pitch have now picked up a set of lyriks. Will the lyriks still be as well damped or was the pikes flawed prior to the pushing?

AFAIK - the Push tune on the Pike adds the ability to independently adjust the high speed compression damping; so when you get you Pikes Push tuned, they come back with the old damping rod in the box. Consequently you can still externally adjust the low speed compression via the blue dial, while the high speed is set internally when the fork is tuned specifically for you. The rebound circuits are also improved I think, so overall the biggest gain you feel is on the bigger hits, where the fork is more controlled and recovers better.

You probably already know that, but to then contrast the Lyrik to this; the Lyrik already has separate Low and High speed compression adjusters as stock, both external, so you can tune the fork to work as you want it. It's not that the Pike was defficient, it just didn't have those dials and knobs.

The Lyrik has excellent damping I think and it's pretty easy to get a good set up; maybe half of the available low speed and a couple of turns of high depending on how heavy you are/ride.

There are other benefits you will feel from the lyrik though over the Pike; it's a bigger and much stiffer chassis, although the Pike aint exactly noodly! The Lyrik will make the bike's front feel more composed, controlled and accurate when riding very rocky terrain.

The Pitch is such a good bike that it will more than live up to the added performance of the Lyrik, although the downside will be that you will have to invest some time getting the set up right. The ace in the hole for your Lyriks is that having been tuned for you, they are likely to be about as optimum as they can be.

I had both on my SC Heckler the Lyrics totally out perform the Push'd Pike and as said they track with a much more solid feel, and not too much more weight, and very adjustable.

Thanks for that - concerned it might have been a backwards step in damping terms. Roll on the service and fitting!
