I passed the cottage today, it's close to the B road between Peebles and Traquair, and looks secluded and quiet. Would it be worth contacting the owners re: bike storage? There is a good route around Cardrona forest and Gypsy glen that you can start from the cottage.
ivnick - i stayed in traquair cottage last september so assume it's nearby ?
also the Old Drove Road over to St Marys Loch and the SUW
tlr - I think you're right, traquair cottage is next to pumpkin cottage, go into location on the website and have a look at the satellite map. Nice looking properties btw. We go out every Wednesday night if you want a night-ride.
Stayed there last year for a week, bike storage in their shed round the back,seemed pretty secure. Very cosy place, shower was a bit dodgy but otherwise great little base.
