It's easier.
I don't know how people manage to have the mental acuity to operate gears, lockouts and dropper posts at stupid o'clock when their fingers are frozen numb sausages.
It's way beyond my skill level. So single speed it is.
As for doing it solo, well to do the 'Puffer in a team, you need a group of people you really dislike. Otherwise you'd never have the heart to turf them out of their warm sack at 3am into the sleet. I have noticed this antagonism is a common feature amongst the teams - I have learned many new words as I grind slowly past the pits while some unfortunate is being forced out on another lap.
Once I find 3 other people I really dislike, I'll put in a team entry. 🙂
I am happy being solo, no-one else to let down. I've spoken to a couple of people who reckon pairs is the hardest category.

We'll be taking two quad teams and four or five solo riders up, plus support. Logistical fun and games.
Will be great seeing tom out on the course again, very inspirational.

They usually go quicker than that, but there's more entries this year - 116 when I looked last.
I think the fastest I've seen was 2 minutes back when 50 was the limit.
Well I'm on the waiting list for any cancellations. First time trying, didn't realise they would go so quick!

missnit is in for a female quad as well - she did it last year also so is a little aware of what she's let herself in for 🙂
