I've been asked to recommend a pub within walking distance of Westhumble station - but despite riding around the Surrey Hills a lot, I never really go in the pubs.
Any ideas? The friends who are asking will probably be out walking, no need for bike facilities. Stepping Stones seems the obvious place to start.
Stepping Stones is the closest but, depending on your definition of walking distance, there are nicer pubs in Mickleham IMO.
Not much else in that part of the world - the better pubs are further into the hills.
My preference would be the King William IV in Mickleham but its probably 1-2 miles from Westhumble station

Yeah, that was what I thought, in my limited experience.
'a few minutes walk' was the criteria, so as you say, pretty limited. Is the Burford Bridge Hotel bar any good for non-residents?
Yes the Stepping Stones is closest, if they want something with nicer food The Running Horses (if open), King william IV, or Denbies (wine only). Depends what they are after really...
