Apparently the little ferry from Inverbeg to Rowardennan is no longer running, and I can't find any info about buses, but maybe that's just google.
Is there any other way of getting to the foot of Ben Lomond by bus/ferry?
There's now a ferry from Tarbet to Rowardennan. See http://www.cruiselochlomondltd.com/rowardennan.html
And you can get a train to Tarbet.
The only transport is public bus to Balmaha, after that its walk or ride Im afraid....
Aha I stand corrected.....
CraigW, you da man.
£10 return, £14.50 if you want coffee on the way and beer on return, nice touch!

Is the best I can find - so hopefully this summer they will start again.
I used the ferry as a kid to get to rowardennan from Balloch but unless this new service is running there appears to be nothing
Edit - too slow and other folks google fu is better
Cheers all, citylink + the Tarbet ferry gets us there and back with 6 hours to do the hill, £27 return from Edinburgh.
It was supposed to be a 'work' trip, with a night in the pub and hostel booked, but it became just me and one other guy so the overnight plan suddenly seemed a bit excessive...
Hoping for good conditions and the Ptarmigan ridge!
